So I'm sure if you follow our Facebook page you know that we've been posting about the Green Pledge, a list of things that SGA candidates running for office promise to do if they get elected into office. This is part of a greater plan to make UMBC a more sustainability-minded institution with a very involved student body and student government.
Spearheaded by the Eco Leadership Facilitators (ELFs) - and written by your's truly - this Pledge is truly the product of collaboration among the Eco orgs. Our organizations gave input on this document to create the product that is being signed by SGA candidates. I'm gratified that the process was so give-and-take, and that the orgs who endorse the Pledge are doing their parts to get it around and spread the word.
Follow our Facebook to see who else signs the Pledge! These future student leaders will be the way to the future of sustainability at UMBC, and they are an important way to make the change we want on campus.
We look forward to seeing what those elected, who have signed the Pledge, will do to help our cause and make change on campus! You can read the names of candidates who have signed the pledge, which will be uploaded along with this post, right here: https://www.facebook.com/growumbc/.
Best,
Andy
