SLSA is organizing our annual Cultivate to Educate: Coffee House event on November 16th in the Sports Zone.
The goal of this event is to promote interdisciplinary social awareness of issues surrounding social injustice, health, and poverty.
We would love for you or your other student organizations to be involved!
There are a few ways individuals or organizations can participate:
1) Be a Panelist - A panelist is a member from the student org or associated contacts who can share their perspective about social justice topics. Panelists would help provide factual information to the audience during the event and would also help facilitate interactive discussion with the audience.
2) Provide a Speaker - A speaker is someone who has an informed perspective such as an involved activist or professor who can offer 'expert insight' about a relevant topic. They would be asked to present for 3 - 5 minutes about their chosen topic to provide the audience with more factual information or a unique perspective to kick-start a specific discussion.
3) Video Clip - If members of your organization or potential speakers are unable to attend the event, we can video tape them giving their opinion or factual information and then show the clip during the event to convey their message.
We would be happy to provide more information or further discuss ideas for the event.
