Butts,
Just wanted to shoot you all an end of the year news post to wrap up a few things that were talked about at the last few practices. Please try and read through everything. If your brain explodes from reading too many words, just check out the bolded things.
Booya will be attending a Spring Break tournament (High Tide) from March 15th to 22nd in the scenic land of Georgia. It costs around $200 (exact number to be determined) and covers living arrangements, travel expenses, and cleaning service (Dan will be wearing a French maid outfit). I want you to go. However, we can only take a certain number of individuals based on cost factors. First though, do me a favor and fill out this form with your availability. Please provide a comment explaining why you can't go if that's the case.
Indoor Ultimate will be starting the first week of December. It occurs Tuesday and Thursday nights starting at 9PM. It's located at Lansdowne Middle School in their gym and continues into February and March. Costs $10 for the entire span. Post in the UMBC DTT Facebook group if you're looking for a ride and whatnot.
I'll be hosting a presentation relating to either offensive flow (cutters) or defensive positioning on Friday, December 6th, in Math/Psych 104 at 8PM. Another presentation will be scheduled to go over our offense and pull plays for Spring later this semester, possibly the following Friday. Invite anyone and everyone that's interested in learning. Because knowing is half the battle.
Practice times have likely changed for Spring semester. This is due to indoor league and my school schedule occurring on Tuesdays. We will likely be changing Tuesday night practices to Wednesday night. We should be able to get the Catonsville turf. Fingers crossed. Let me know if this is a major issue so we can accommodate as many people as possible.
Keep an eye on any Booya/Shazam-related Facebook events (formal, bohemian week, board games) these next few weeks. Just because we aren't freezing our butts off at practice anymore doesn't mean we have to diddle our thumbs alone. Hope to see you all as much as possible as this semester comes to a close. Thanks a bundle to each and every one of you for making this a smooth transition for me into captainship. It's been a pleasure to say the least.
