Booya,
I wanted to send out an initial message to everyone about this year and what we can expect. I'm looking forward to a phenomenal year playing with all of you but we should get some things out of the way before that. First and foremost, I'd like to introduce myself and the other administrators if you don't know them already.
My name is Clarkson and I'll be your Captain this year. Beside me, Brad Scott will be helping out as Co Captain. Feel free to come to us with any ultimate-related questions, comments, concerns, or funny noises. I'll be the one leading practices and tournaments. I've been playing ultimate for a really long time, so, hopefully, I can help out with understanding the game.
Dan Dresser will be your President and Thomas Hervey will be your Vice President. They'll be the gears running everything behind the scenes. Any team-related questions should be brought to them. These include, but are not limited to, "when are we getting jerseys?", "whose car am I in?", and the infamous "I made out with the ugly girl at the party, what do I do?" Although, another individual might be able to help you out with that last one.
Bob Ross is our Treasurer and Austin Duff is our Secretary. I'm not sure what they do, but they're vital or something.
Also joining us will be our beloved coaches, Meech and Peyote. They did a fantastic job last year, and I don't doubt this year will be any different. They'll be attending most of the Friday practices and a number of tournaments to help us out.
Speaking of which, practice. Practice? No, not a game. Practice. We're looking to hold two practices a week starting in late September. These will be Tuesday night, 7:30 PM, at an undetermined location and Friday afternoon, 3:00 PM, on Erickson field. This schedule will follow into the Spring semester as well. The remaining days of the week are available for conditioning or throwing practice, whenever you may find time. There's a plethora of people that are willing to throw around, just ask.
The first few weeks of the semester are to be for pickup ONLY. Please keep these games as relaxed as possible. I guarantee there will be pickup on Friday and another day of the week from the first day of school until September 17th, our proposed first practice.
Now, about those games. We have three tournaments lined up for the Fall. Our first will be at Vassar college the weekend of September 21st. We're looking to go with the ladies and stay overnight at the campus. I know a number of Vassar dudes and dudettes and they are a wondrous group of individuals. They hold a party Saturday night for all the teams, so I believe this will be a great initial tournament to attend.
The second tournament will be one hosted by our team. The details are scarce currently but it will be in early October, and a number of local colleges will come to play each other nearby our campus.
Lastly, we'll be attending Hucks Off The Hilltop during the weekend of October 26th in Reston, VA. Again, a number of local college teams will be attending. This, slightly more competitive, tournament will most likely end our Fall schedule.
I think that about does it for any information related to the beginning of the year. Please send any questions you may have regarding to the team to the contact information provided below. Thanks for your time and I love you all.
