Hi everyone!
It was wonderful to meet all of you at Involvement Fest! We're so glad to hear that you're interested in Students for Environmental Awareness (SEA).
It was wonderful to meet all of you at Involvement Fest! We're so glad to hear that you're interested in Students for Environmental Awareness (SEA).
First of all, we meet every Monday 12PM-12:50pm in Math/Psych 102 (starting September 14). As promised, here's some more info about our club!
SEA is a unique community of people spreading the love of our planet to UMBC and beyond! We do that in a lot of ways:
We organize fun outdoor service events such as stream cleanups and tree planting. Our first service event of the semester is Jug Bay Wetlands marsh cleanup on September 26 (more info to come)!
We also raise awareness about important issues both on and off campus by participating in rallies and protests, by tabling at UMBC events, and by petitioning on campus to help students' voices be heard by the outside world. Join the conversation!
We also celebrate our love of the planet together with cool activities like zoo trips, hikes, organic and sustainable food, geocaching, and trips to the pumpkin patch! One of our main events each year is Ecofest, a series of events leading up to Earth Day involving free food, music, games, movies, and great people!
SEA grows every semester based on the interests of its members; that is, YOUR interests! We would be more than happy to help you make your green ideas a reality, too!
For more information, check out our Facebook page. If you have any questions, just reply to this post or email keefe1@umbc.edu. And come out to our meetings and events because we can't wait to get to know all of you!
Sincerely,
The SEA Family
