We are getting enthusiastic user reviews of the space in general, and especially the Fit Chairs (see thumbnail), the hydration station (which offers filtered water), and the dry erase boards. The white wall is also a dry-erase surface.
The Library supplies the dry erase markers and erasers; we are experimenting with various brands and types, so if you find one or another particularly good or bad, email aok@umbc.edu to let us know. For that matter, send us any comments you may have.
Computing equipment will be installed later this month, probably in mid-month and a late-month stages. The full implementation will include enhance wi-fi capacity, 14 computers with 32" monitors and cubbies for laptop plug-in (including laptop to 32" monitor connections), and a 52" monitor in the Seminar room.
Soft seating, booth furniture and some tables will be delivered mid-September. "Clouds" for pendant lighting over the booths are being installed this week. We will try offering printing in the RLC as soon as some technical issues are resolved. We will begin an experiment in reserving the Seminar room shortly.
Don't forget your UMBC ID to swipe into the RLC. Food and drink are allowed and more vending machines have been added. Supplies vending has been moved from its previous location in the printing/photocopying room to the entrance of the RLC.
There are cork boards for posting notices toward the back of the room.
