The Division of Information Technology (DoIT) and the Library are pleased to announce their plan to move the DoIT Help Desk to the Library.
The new Help Desk will be renamed the "Technical Support Center" and will be located next to the Retriever Learning Center. The move is tentatively planned for mid-July. The TSC should be operating routinely in this new location well before the RLC opens at the end of August.
The planned location was chosen so that in-person support could easily be provided to users in both the RLC and the Reference room of the library. Phone assistance will also be based here. A draft drawing of the space can be seen at:

The drawing also depicts space to be dedicated to the Writing Center, which is part of the Learning Resource Center (LRC), also to be adjacent to the RLC.
The Library, DoIT and the LRC are collaborating to bring student success services together in one convenient campus location which has a high quality working environment. Faculty and staff are also expected to benefit from this integration of services.
The new Technical Support Center will be furnished with three staff cubicles and a capacious area for consultations, all demarked by temporary service desk furniture which will be pulled from other areas of the Library and temporary signs. Once final work patterns are established, permanent signage and furniture will be chosen after getting feedback from users.
