53 people attended the UMC Telescope Open House on Thursday night between 7 and 9 PM. The participants listened to a brief lecture on Mars exploration and the upcoming encounter of Comet Siding Spring with Mars. After the talk, groups circled between the telescope, the war room where the telescope operations take place, and the lecture hall, where we were displaying real-time images from the telescope and holding a Question & Answer session.
