Why did you join your group/student org?

Today we continue our conversation about leadership in groups.
Looking at the groups to which you belong, how do the groups’ purpose/vision align with your values and interests?
Why did you join your group/student org? Does it share your passion for, say, environmentalism or a cultural dance? Do you feel as though the other people in the group share your values? Maybe you connected with the group because of they share your value of accountability which they show through service to the community and being a good role model for area youth.
