The Spring semester is about to begin! I hope that you have enjoyed your winter break, and are ready to return to classes. I just have a few things for you to think about over the next week or so:
1) Our next group mentoring meeting – vote for a day and time in this Doodle poll: http://www.doodle.com/xvs4datwwgkq37fi
2) Double-check your Spring 2012 schedule for:
a. Eligibility for each class – you all need grades of “C” or better in your pre-requisite courses, but some of you need better than a “C” in certain classes in your major. Make adjustments ASAP!
b. Room changes made since you originally signed up for classes.
c. Wait list status – remember that wait list credits DO NOT count toward your full-time standing. If you need to be full-time, make sure that you are ENROLLED in at least 12 credits.
3) Check out our myUMBC Group page! In addition to iCubed announcements, our Group page also highlights events from the Career Services Center, the Shriver Center, Undergraduate Research, and many more campus resources! You’ll have to accept the myUMBC invitation to join the group in order to access all of the functions (check your UMBC email account, or go to the Group’s home page to do so).
Once again, we will be sending out requests for one-on-one appointments as information comes in about your individual academic progress. If you need to make an appointment with me for this or any other reason, you can make an appointment directly into my Google Calendar or stop by the CNMS Dean’s Office (UC 116) to sign up in my appointment book at the front desk. I usually have appointment times set up about a week in advance.
I look forward to seeing you soon!
Michelle
