Hey Everyone,
I figure since this idea is one I proposed, I'll show you the kinds of information you should put up here if you're the one who proposed the idea. For the other groups, I'll just post up a basic discussion stub.
Name: Cosmoknights
Genre: 2D Multiplayer Action Platformer
Description:
This is a game where you play as one of four astronauts from rival factions who all crash their rockets in an asteroid field. The pieces of the rockets are strewn all over the asteroid field, and there are only enough parts to fix one rocket, so the race is on between the four astronauts to beat each other to the parts, bring them back to their rocket, and escape the asteroids.
Players play as one of the astronauts, who each have a laser weapon, and a jet pack that allows them to boost through the field, which has no gravity. The object of the game is to get a certain number of parts in the field and take them to your rocket. However, if an enemy player hits you with a laser, it stuns you, and causes you to drop the part, allowing them to pick it up.
The core thing to get down during the jam would be the actions of the individual player, having them be able to move through the field and shoot a laser, and be able to pick up parts and bring them back to their ship.
The actual game (if selected) would be developed in XNA, but for the jam I'd do the prototype in Flash.
