As you are aware, UMBC is preparing to transition from paper to electronic timesheets (ETS) for its faculty, staff and student employees. The Human Resources staff is continuously working with the DoIT staff in developing functionality that will accommodate the various needs of the campus community.
Over the last two months, HR staff have worked with pilot groups, from various departments, in navigating and testing the electronic processes for efficiency and effectiveness. Pilot testing has been successful and valuable feedback have been received for additional consideration.
Based on the diversity of employment throughout the campus, a decision has been made to go with a phased-in approach for go-live. The HR Office and DoIT will be the first departments to go live, tentatively by 2014 Spring Break. Thereafter, administrative departments will follow. Academic departments will go-live last to ensure that the ETS process fully supports the faculty group. The target date for the campus to go live is July, 2014.
