8:10 AM, Feb 23rd Williamsburg, VA— In it’s first road race of the season, UMBC came out on top at the William & Mary Tidewater Winter Classic. Riders Julian Paul and Darren Klinefelter took 1st and 13th place respectively in the 21 mile Men’s D category. Despite weather that dropped below 40 degrees and constant rain, Paul latched onto what would eventually become a 3 person breakaway at mile 7.5 and finished ahead of American University and Duke in an uphill sprint finish.
