For those of you who bravely ventured to local stores and businesses for Black Friday, I have a few questions:
Please note that all proceeds from
these giftwrapping events will support future Best Buddies events.
Over a month ago, the group went bowling at the Woodlawn AMF lanes.
The group hopes to visit the National Aquarium soon.
- Are those gifts still in the plastic bags behind the dining room table?
- Do you dread having to track down supplies of paper, scissors, and tape?
- Are you a procrastinating giftwrapper?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, have no fear! Best Buddies is here!!!!
In
1989, Best Buddies was founded by Anthony K. Shiver (son of Eunice
Kennedy and Sargent Shriver, for whom The Shriver Center is named).
Best Buddies' mission is to establish "a global volunteer movement that
creates opportunities for
one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development
for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)." http://www.bestbuddies.org/best-buddies
