My name is Kaitlyn Carter, I am a student and Code2040 Ambassador at UMBC. Next week, I will be holding 2 CODE2040 informational sessions on campus about the Fellows program:
Monday(11/2): 6-7p in Physics 107
Tuesday(11/3): 5-6p in ITE 231
I have listed below a little more about CODE2040s mission and would really appreciate it if you could forward this information to your network! I originally made an event through UMBC for the end of November, but CODE2040 has decided to make their deadline to apply earlier, due to the number of applications already received.
During the informational session, I will go over more about the application process and what it will mean to be a CODE2040 Fellow. This will also be a great opportunity for those interested to ask any questions they have about the technical assessment, companies involved, etc. Pizza will be provided as well as some CODE2040 'swag'.
Deadline to submit an application is Monday, November 9th.
Deadline to pass/submit the tech assessment is Thursday, November 12th.
If interested, please fill out the following form to RSVP to the informational sessions:
The following link will allow you to apply and start the technical assessment:
More about CODE2040s Mission:
Code2040 is a non-profit that promotes Black and Latino/as in tech by hosting them at various San Francisco and Silicon Valley area companies. This years big host companies are Apple, Intuit, Stripe, Github, and Pandora -- to name a few. Along with being paired up with a host company, Code2040 puts together workshops to network, discuss diversity, or learn new skills. All fellows will also be paired up with a mentor who works in Silicon Valley or San Francisco area. It's an amazing opportunity that I am trying to get UMBC more involved in! I have benefitted from this program immensely and would love to see more of my peers in it!
Thank you for your time! I hope to have a great turn out and please feel free to have anyone email me with any further questions about the informational (car8@umbc.edu)
Kindest Regards,
Kaitlyn
