In cricket, it's easy to score runs and hard to make outs, there's no foul ground and you don't have to run when you hit the ball. Hitting the ball over the boundary gets you an automatic six runs, while bouncing it over the boundary line gets you four, plus you don't have to stop batting until you're gotten out. That why there can be hundreds of runs scored in a three-hour match, and one batter can make 50 or 100 runs by themselves.
