You or may not be aware of this, but Basecamp has the capability of storing project templates. They can be very useful if you find yourself regularly recreating a certain type of project (i.e. info session setup, computer lab refresh). DPS IT decided to create a template that users may find helpful in regards to starting a project. We just included some tasks that we thought most projects need done initially. The template is named "Sample Starter Project". Everyone from DPS that is currently using Basecamp has been added to this template. Two quick things:
- You have rights to edit the template so please be careful. At the same time if you think of something that will enhance this template please add it or even create a new template.
- If you use this template (or any template for that matter) be sure to remove and or add the appropriate people for the team before activating the project.
So if you had reservations about starting a Basecamp project then go ahead try a template and see if it will jump start your project tracking efforts!
