Pay 2 Play: Democracy's High Stakes Movie Screening
Join College Dems for a film exploring Big Money in politics
Monday, December 8, 2014 · 7 - 9:30 PM
The 2014 midterm elections cost $4 billion, with about a quarter of the money coming from anonymous sources and much more from Super PACs. Are you sick of money corrupting our politics?
College Democrats is pleased to announce that next Monday from 7pm to 9:30pm in ITE 102 we will be hosting a screening of the new documentary Pay 2 Play: Democracy's High Stakes by filmmaker John Ennis. Featuring esteemed advocates such as Robert Reich and Lawrence Lessig, the film explores the landscape of campaign finance after the 2010 Citizens United Supreme Court decision.
Afterwards we will be holding an open discussion about our reactions to the movie, money in politics today, and how UMBC students can support reform.
