FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New approach to logistics aimed at driving up US GDP
Baltimore, MD USA January 12, 2015
Summary: The young and versatile CEO of Premium Logistics North America was a guest on the new Big Pitch Radio Show that aired on Biz Talk Radio Network in syndication. She shared her thoughts on how her company approaches logistics with a different approach aimed at driving up US GDP.
The logistics needs of manufacturers in the US are becoming more complex; Changing trade agreements, policy changes to licensed controlled items, dropping fuel prices, large ship berth openings and port congestion are the highlights of 2014. Maintaining insight on events like these while also being aware of; industry trends, market demands, operations and international expansion, leave manufacturing executives feeling overwhelmed.
Historically, manufacturers have turned to forwarding companies to deliver their products to market. The job of a forwarder has been to move cargo from point A to point B, quickly and cheaply. Today customers are leading a break in the historical attitude that a forwarder moves everything everywhere. The market is demanding logistic providers operate more as partners. They require innovative solutions and streamlined operations to meet their complex supply chain needs. The forwarding market represents a 52 billion dollar industry, so their change in preference must be noted in order for forwarders to survive.
Eighty percent of the forwarding market is controlled by small forwarding companies. The recession forced many younger forwarding companies to either close shop or sell-out to a big box competitor. The forwarding market is now recovering. GDP was up five percent the last quarter of 2014 and continues to trend up. However, the majority of forwarding providers are continuing to operate with the out-dated attitude and customers are left dissatisfied. In addition, manufacturers considering to begin implementing exports into their growth plan feel discouraged by the lack of information and support offered by forwarding companies. Logistics is actually listed by a majority of non-exporting manufacturers as the reason why they do not export.
Ms. Dill is the founder and owner of Premium Logistics North America, LLC. She has used her experience and versatility to shape her forwarding business to cater to this market demand. She says "Overseas, doesn't have to mean overwhelming" It was this attitude that earned her an invitation to speak on the recently launched Big Pitch Radio Show, aired on Biz Talk Radio Network. She discusses what her forwarding company is doing different to service the changed market. Listeners will hear how she built the company up, designed services that directly contribute to growing GDP and her offer to interested equity partners.
