Ideas to help the people of Japan (prayer, fundraisers, et)?
How can No/Low Income Students Help the Japanese?
posted over 13 years ago
Hey guys,
Sadly an enormous earthquake hit Japan just a few days ago followed by many aftershocks and a land-sweeping tsunami. Now, nuclear radiation is following as another factor. I am wondering if you guys have any ideas as to how we as no or low-income students can support the Japanese in a time of major hurt.
1) I am talking about lots and lots of prayer for their suffering, fear, loneliness, hunger and thirst, lack of shelter, exposure to radiation, coldness, and many other horrible conditions.
2) Possible fund-raising to send money as a relief effort.
3) Something else we can do to volunteer our free time, and show our love for the Japanese people and for God.
My idea is to order bracelets similar to the "LIVESTRONG" ones, but to
have a message with something along the lines of "Save Japan!". We could set up a table and spend a few hours selling these.
Let me know what you think,
- Paul
