Aloofness and Curiosity
Do you think they're related?

In debate, I find that my best arguments come out when I suspend my personal investment in a topic and use cold hard analysis. It can be off-putting to some individuals and many find it offensive when my conclusions contradict their viewpoint.
Curiosity can be divided into naive curiosity (where one just seeks an answer without explanation) and explorative curiosity (where one seeks an answer with explanation and justification on why other answers are incorrect).
Do people often find that curiosity and aloofness go hand-in-hand? Is it personal style? Or is it necessary?
Apologies for a potentially ambiguous and/or bias poll. I admit I'm not stellar at creating surveys. I think I have all possible scenarios. Yes, I do realize I omitted the "depends on the scenario" choice. I am just searching for what most people believe in. :-)
