Problem? (yes/no/maybe so)
posted over 11 years ago
A guy named Carlos Ramirez made a comic about Insane Troll Logic. Part of it was a badly drawn, rather obscure cartoon character. He posted the comic to deviantart under the pseudonym Whynne. After several months, someone saw C-Ram's comic and decided to put it to his own use, that is to say "Problem?" or "U mad?" His friends picked up on this habit, then their friends did and so on, and before long the meme was everywhere. You may have seen the face before, but it's attached to the discussion to jog your memory. Eventually C-Ram got so mad he posted a notice on Reddit, one site where the meme was especially viral, revealing his true identity and requesting that those using the meme cease and desist. However, by now it was too late, and no amount of litigious force could make the meme die.
So, what say you? Should this stupid meme just DIE, whether or not because of copyright infringement? Should it go on without legal troubles? Are you not informed enough to make a sound judgement? Do you even know what the trollface is?
