Help with IS Graduate Research
It will only take 5 minutes!
Hi,
I would appreciate your help on my Master’s thesis research project.
In my research, we collect usage data of users of web applications, and convert the usage data into test cases that are then used to test the correctness of web applications. Our research entirely relies on the amount and quality of usage data that we are able to collect.
You can help us get this usage data! It will take no more than 5 minutes of your time!
All you need to do is visit the website linked below and browse it like you would any other e-commerce site. Examples of things you can do on the website are browse through products, make purchases, search for products, write reviews, etc.
Here is the link for the website:
http://130.85.90.89/catalog/catalog/index.php
In order to access most of the meaningful features of the application like purchasing products, writing reviews, you would need to be an authenticated user, i.e., a user with an account!
We would really appreciate it if you can create your own account (Please use dummy usernames and passwords that do not reveal your identity in any way. You can create an account with a completely made-up email address as your username).
However, on the off chance that you don’t want to create an account, we have created two guest accounts that you can use when browsing the website.
Guest account 1: username: user1@abc.com, password: user1
Or
Guest account 2: username: user2@abc.com, password: user2
For us to get quality data, we would really like you to create an account, login and then browse the website like any other e-commerce site.
Please remember:
- DO NOT use your real name, email address, physical address, etc.
- DO NOT use the password that you use at other web sites
- In short, DO NOT enter any personally identifiable data
- Purchases made on this website are dummy purchases, i.e., you won’t actually be purchasing any of the items.
Your help would be invaluable to our research as our research entirely relies on your usage data. Please help us!
Thanks for your help! You can reach me at the email address below with any questions/concerns.
