Bono next to MLK and Elie Wiesel?
Should Bono be next to these people?
Everyone,
Last weekend I took a break from the library to eat at the Mexican place in the Commons, Salsarita's. Having gotten my Quasadilla, I sat down in the Social Justice lounge to plot out my next Conservative scheme to deprive people of their rights. I started staring at the mural with "Social Justice" heros. There was Martin Luther King, Jr. Look, there is Elie Wiesel. What? Bono? Next to these people?
Yeah, I'm sure that Bono has done great things promoting peace around the world. He went to great lengths to get funding to stop or lessen AIDS in Africa. For that, I do applaud him. But, does he need to be next to a man who unjustly spent time in jail and was killed for his non-violent beliefs? Does he need to be next to a man that was held in a Nazi Concentration Camp and saw his family and friends die before his eyes for a twisted racial ideology? I think there should have been a "suffering" requirement to be included on the wall. IMHO, rich rock stars need not apply. Honor Bono somewhere else, but not here.
What do you think?
