So this guy was a complete dick.  He seriously went around raping and pillaging until there was nothing left to rape and or pillage.  I mean he got exiled from Norway and Iceland.  He wasn't an explorer, he only "explored" out of necessity, and thanks a whole lot for discovering Greenland, what an accomplishment.  Also, why did they name Greenland Greenland, and Iceland Iceland, shouldn't it really be the other way around?  How bad do you have to be to get exiled from Viking societies of which the entire point of existence is raping and pillaging?  I wonder how much history has been warped, I bet he was worse than portrayed.  Decided to look this up since apparently I wan named after him because my parents enjoyed his big burly red beard.  Apparently the alternatives were Gus, or Guy, so in retrospect thanks mom and dad.  Too bad they didn't actually look into it and realize that not only was this guy a dick but his name is spelled with a "K" and not a "C", hilarious.  At least when people ask how to spell my name i can say, "It's Eric, as in AmERICa, :)"
