Growth does not have to come at the expense of equality

The standard mantra from the right is that "growth" has to mean "growing inequality."
Here's an interesting blog posting from the NYT that questions that.
In sum, Singapore has maintained an impressive growth rate while not exacerbating the divide between the "haves" and the "have nots."
Something that was apparently lost on Mittens when he gave his famous "47%" speech.
