Single Rooms for freshman?

Hi everyone,
I would like to know whether I can book a single room for first year in the dorms and if so when is the deadline for that?
I know that it isn't likely and that that double rooms are more likely to be available but I have seriously thought about that it and I think I would just like a single room for first year and then move into double room second semester?
