UMBC Rifle & Pistol Club.
I am interested in starting a Rifle and Pistol Club for UMBC. I recently found out that College Park has one and I don't understand why we can't have one either. I am a veteran student with 5 years active service experience in the Marine Corps and other experiences in gun smithing, firearm regulations, and firearms safety.
Mission statement:
- To support and practice the constitutional rights of the people to keep and bear arms.
- To educate students about responsible gun ownership, and develop marksmanship skills.
- To coordinate the interests of all students who enjoy rifle, pistol and/or shooting.
- To promote and introduce Civilian Marksmanship Programs (CMP) and the rich history of shooting sports.
- To encourage interest in participation in firearms activies by all, and especially minorities, women and students.
First order of business requires few members who have experience in firearms training and safety. If you have former firearms training/experience and is interested in helping out to create this new student group please email me at selee1@umbc.edu
Initially I would like to recruit around 5-10 key/core members to start this group
(core members will assist new comers in training/safety/rules & regulations/etc)

"Once upon a time in America, many high schools had shooting ranges and students even brought their own rifles to school. What changed in society that we could trust such activities then, but not now?"
