Hi everyone,
This is just a reminder that the last day to apply for the 2013 Teach For America corps is this Friday, February 15, at 11:59pm!
In case you're not familiar with Teach For America (TFA), it is a national non-profit organization that recruit top seniors—of all majors and different racial/ethnic backgrounds—from universities all across the country to teach for two years in a low-income community. The reason we do this is because currently millions of children, especially minorities, are not receiving a proper education. Millions of children are being pushed through the education system or dropping out of school because too many teachers are failing to give them the support they need.
Teach For America believes that there are intelligent and dedicated students, just like you, at colleges and universities that have what it takes to truly educate these children and transform their lives. Training is provided, all we ask is that you be committed to helping children get on a pathway to a successful college career.
Some of the benefits include:
- Salaries ranging from 25,000 - 55,000
- Loan forbearance while in the corps
- Input in terms of where, what, and who you'll teach
