Re: Should Duncan Robinson abstain from posting?
An actual point to discuss

While there may be differing opinions on this, I would think the answer would obviously be no.
I think the matter should be discussed. Everyone's got people and/or threads that they wish would just go away completely. Did they ever go away, regardless of how much people got aggravated with them? The answer is no.
The reason: Freedom of Speech. As much as people may absolutely hate what someone says, they have the right to say it without fearing for their lives. You can't claim free speech just for the people you like.
Don't like what they are doing? Well, nobody says you have to listen or acknowledge them. Heck, no one says you even have to use these forums at all. No one is forcing you at gunpoint to participate.
I posted this because I find it very hypocritical when people who keep going on about free speech suddenly do a 180. When people react badly to what they say, they claim those people are trampling on the 1st amendment. However, when someone does something THEY do not like, now it must be censored???
Either everyone has the right to free speech, or nobody does. There is no in between. There's no such thing as selective free speech, because that is not truly free.

"Benign, in your opinion. Duncan's actions cause me to waste valuable time scrolling down to find relevant comments to engage in dialogue with the myUMBC community."
Sorry if this sounds like an attack, James, but just how "valuable" can your time really be if you're using it to post on the myUMBC forums?
Besides, It just takes a couple seconds to scroll down. No big deal. Why is this getting to you and other people so much? Is it about momentum? Sort of like the Ravens smashing the 49er's and suddenly the lights go off for 34 minutes, momentum stops, and the 49er's come back with a vengence?
Is Duncan the proverbial "34 minutes" in the middle of the football game? Here, you have this momentum... back and forth, post and response, left and right, and suddenly... bleeeeee!!! DUNCAN ROBINSON!!! yfgluu
and then... everything resets. For somebody who relishes debate and the heated argument of the forum, I can see how this would be very irritating.
