MyUMBC Fan-Fic II: The Saga Continues
posted almost 12 years ago
Hi all! MyUMBC's Open-Source fan fiction experiment was an initial success, with contributions from at least 7 different people besides the OP. The MyUMBC Storybook Canon quickly produced several spin-offs, and it is encouraged that the reader get involved and contribute their creative writing to this collaborative saga.
Here are the rules:
1) Primary posts (i.e. ones that are not "in reply" to another post) are for posting your contribution to the story. Please try to refrain from posting canon fan fiction in sub-comments. Instead, use the "reply" feature to comment on the contributions and suggest new plot twists and character development, etc.
2) You can write anything, but the more effort you put into making it genuinely funny rather than mean or at someone else's expense, the better this venture will be overall and the more enjoyable it'll be for everyone. Plus, it'll probably go on longer! Everybody likes "to be continued"s!
3) Before posting, select all your text and copy it. Then refresh the page to make sure no one beat you to posting, so that by posting, you won't mess anything up. If no one did, go ahead and quickly post what you typed.
4) Clarification on rule 1: When continuing a story arc, post in the same "level" of the comments (i.e. do not reply to the comment you're continuing, but reply to the one above it, or, if it is a primary post, post another primary post below it, using the submission feature). WHEN CREATING A SPIN-OFF, HOWEVER, then please do initially click "reply" to the story arc that you are spinning "off of."
Thank you all very much for complying with these simple guidelines. Doing so will make it more fun for all of us. :)
Below in the comments, I have reproduced the Canonical story-arcs from the previous thread, and it is encouraged that people contribute to elaborating on those story-lines, or creating spin-offs on their own.
