Whether or not there really is a war on Christmas, I would like to first say that Bill O'Reilly is doing this for ratings. No matter who it is or what the issue may be, if it is on television it is for ratings. There is not a single network or producer out there that says I don't care if nobody is watching this at all. The point of television is to get people to watch whatever it is that you are putting on there.

With that now said, I would like to support the reason that I believe that the war on Christmas is a complete fabrication of the conservative media. Don't get me wrong here, I'm a republican and a christian but what's fair is fair Bill.

Corporations in today's world are just unwilling to part with non-christian money for the sake of Santa and the birth of Christ. Aside from that, Christ wasn't even born in December anyways. His birth is only celebrated in December to coincide with the winter solstice that was celebrated by pagan converts to make the transition easier for them to except.

Christians decided that it didn't matter if Christs birthday was actually celebrated when he was born, if it meant that they could convert more people by celebrating it at a time that pagans where already celebrating something else.

Another example of Christians doing this exact same type of thing is the Celtic crosses. Pagans drew ornate rings onto trees and prayed to them. Christians carved a cross over and through these rings and deemed it fitting enough that they said the same prayers with the cross inside the rings on a tree.

They were converted praise be to Jesus. The only thing in their minds that had changed was one more symbol on a tree. Their worship did not change nor did their prayers.

I am a true believer myself in the wonders of God and my lord Jesus Christ but there must be separation of church and state. Corporate America has already figured out that by just saying happy holidays instead of merry Christmas, you get everyones money instead of just Christian money. I don't see anything wrong with that to be honest.

America is the home of freedom of religion and I think by keeping religious holidays on the back burner, we can focus on things that we all have problems with like this economy. That is the real issue that needs to be pursued not an imaginary war on Christmas.
