Should the school extend the deadline to drop classes?

I think the deadline for right now is somewhat debilitating, since many classes will have fewer than 3 exams and a paper dispersed throughout the semester. One can't get a clear idea of one's grade until the very end of the semester, in some cases. And things get really complicated when you try to withdraw a class by then, let alone drop without a grade of W.
I think it would be sensible if the school would let students drop and withdraw in later dates.
