Hi Thomas,

Thomas,
I wanted you to know that I've had a chance to read and reflect on the student comments, and I take this matter very seriously. We have to make progress on this matter as soon as possible. You'll be hearing from Dr. Young or Dr. Brown shortly.

ORIGINAL POSTING:
At least 4 machines in the gym are broken. The seated calf raise machine has no mechanics to it at all... All it needs is a small rubber pad for the weights to rest on, yet it hasn't been replaced in over a year. This piece alone probably cost at most $30.00.
The excuse that they have spent money on purchasing new tread mills can only go so far, there are broken tread mills out side of the weight room. Why not fix the broken ones or remove them rather than buy new ones?
Off the top of my head here are broken things at the RAC
Broken:
-Treadmills
-Bicycle Machines
-Weight Machines( at least 3 various machines)
-Water Fountain (the one near the bathrooms at the basketball court are constantly running water... talk about a waste of money)
-Water Fountain( in the gym has a broken button with sharp edges)...
-Cone over large screws near entrance (Have been in this state for over a year)
Any possibility we can at least have a respectable safe environment/facility?
I know this topic is beat to hell, but everything related to this topic at this university is ignored and we are expected to accept it all. I know a bunch of you will say you should be here to learn not work out... this is a quality university of knowledge ... BLAH BLAH BLAH that's no excuse to have facilities in a run down state.
This can also be applied to some of the computer labs in various buildings which look like the chairs have been gnawed on by a pack of wild hyenas. They also look like they haven't been swept in numerous years.
