I know posting this thread seems stupid, but I am dead serious about this topic. Can someone define racism? I feel insecure when I am dealing with some people even though I have been here long enough, approximately ten years. It may be because of cultural differences, I don't know. Some students, professors, and employees are so nice and mature, but some are not. There were times, I said to myself, I had a bad day instead of saying I dealt with a racist. I think racism is still existed in US, including in UMBC. How do I distinguish a racist from other normal people so that I can stay away from him or her?
