Take the stairs initiative
work those glutes

Something that came up recently as a possibility to promote health awareness at UMBC was to emphasize the option of taking the stairs versus the elevator in various buildings. As part of the Health and Wellness group at UMBC, improving the overall health of students on campus is something of continuous concern, and this would represent just a small step to accomplishing that goal.
The plan would be to post signs near elevators/ stairs to remind the stairs alternative to students/ staff that do not necessarily need the elevator while traversing a building. This would not only promote the obvious health benefit, but it is power-saving too.
what are your thoughts on this? Do you think it would be effective?
