Apocalyptic portents: Jesuits speak plainly
Name something that's both non-liberal and repugnant
Fordham University Prez Joseph McShane sent an open email to the school's College Republicans club, and to the student body in general.
In it, he expressed disappointment regarding their speaking invitation to polemicist Ann Coulter, but asserted that he would never block any speaker they chose.
Reason given:
There are many people who can speak to the conservative point of view with integrity and conviction, but Ms. Coulter is not among them. Her rhetoric is often hateful and needlessly provocative—more heat than light—and her message is aimed squarely at the darker side of our nature.
The College Republicans club cancelled Coulter's engagement, but whined about getting a summary public spanking from the university's president.
