If you haven't heard, Washington State and Colorado State pass ballot initiatives to legalize marijuana for recreational use.

These measures were voted on by the people in each state. Here is the problem:

It is still illegal federally.

Now, President Obama stated in his 2012 National Drug Control Strategy that “the legalization of drugs will not be considered.”

President Obama also said in 2008 that he would not "use DOJ resources to circumvent state laws" in reference to drug laws. He has since broken records on marijuana dispensary raids, surpassing President George W. Bush and appointed to the DEA a person who has aggressively fought to prevent California from enforcing its medical marijuana laws.

The 10th Amendment states the Constitution's principle of federalism by providing that powers not granted to the federal government by the Constitution, nor prohibited to the States, are reserved to the States or the people.

My questions to myUMBC is this:

Do you agree with the Obama Administration enforcing federal law within the states of Washington and Colorado, in regards to marijuana?
