Where's the salt?

I had my first few night classes of the semester this evening. Walking in before the sun set, I thought, "all this slush and water is going to turn into an ice rink later." It's bad enough that some of the main sidewalks along the circle weren't cleared, but to allow ice to form all over the place is just plain hazardous. As far as I can tell, there was no attempt at salting. On my way out, people were slipping and trying to find "creative" ways to their cars without face-planting.
I know last year's "snowmageddon" left a mess that hung around for awhile. Just because the groundhog thinks winter's ending early, doesn't mean we should put the shovels and salt shakers away...
