Is the Republican Party in trouble?
SuperPacs + Nutjobs not = Winning Coalition

The massive (and I do mean massive) defeat of the Republicans this election should be a wake up call to the party.
From my perspective, the republicans have a coalition that looks like this:
1) Western Independents ("Don't tell me about no spotted owl, Mr. Fed")
2) Pro-lifers ("Think about the fertilized egg!")
3) Anti-tax zealots ("Don't tax the wealthy!!!")
4) Christian Fundamentalists ("Hi. My name is Ewik.")
5) Xenophobes ("Hi. My name is Tyler Jennings.")
6) The ueber-wealthy ("Some of my friends own NASCAR Teams")
7) Corporations and their cronies ("We need to cut taxes on corporations.")
I'm sure some would add Neo-nazi, Racists, and sundry old white guys here, but I think i covered that when I mentioned Tyler Jennings.
Besides all of us cheering this total "in-your-face" refutation of the Tea Baggers (sorry David....) do you think that the Repubs will wake up an realize it's 2012, and not 1954?
Will this cause a civil war in the party? As the "realists" (both of them) take on the kooks above? Remember the kooks aren't going to take a move to moderation and inclusion lying down.
Or will they say "We lost because we put up a moderate. We were'nt conservative enough?" and next time nominate a real, honest-to-goodness nutjob like Bachmann, or Palin, next time.
Oh....and if anyone needed anymore proof, yes....the Tea Party is officially dead.
Personally I hope they go even more conservative. And get handed an even BIGGER loss next time.
