Why cant UMBC post 2 MAJORS on my DEGREE???

"Failing to follow a long-standing trend among many geographically and academically diverse colleges and universities, UMBC continues to refuse to recognize the accomplishments of students who have completed more than one degree program on its diplomas. Instead, the university allows only one line for students to list their major, forcing them to identify with a primary degree. With thousands of students preparing to graduate in just a couple of weeks, the shortcomings of a UMBC diploma will soon be very tangible.
There has been a lot of understandable grumbling about this in the student body, and there would probably be more if more students were aware of it. One would think that the problem has a simple fix—print a second major line on the diplomas for students who have dual majors. Unfortunately, UMBC’s diploma publisher only allows the university one line for major and type of degree (Bachelor’s of Science, Bachelor’s of Arts, etc.). This being the case, the university needs to either work out a deal with the publisher in which dual degrees become a possibility or search for another publisher who already has a policy in place for printing dual degrees. UMBC considers itself an honors university—that needs to be reflected on the degrees it hands out."
