I have a beautiful two bedroom apartment on the second floor of an historic row home. It's literally two blocks from Penn station and a short walk to MICA, UMB, Hopkins, and a variety of restaurants, theaters, and galleries. There's music in the cafes at night and revolution in the air.
It's an easy 20 minute drive to UMBC and is also accessible by bus.
