Payments Plans or no payment plans

I have several questions, and I can't seem to find the answers
1. which is better to have, a Monthly Payment Plan, or no Payment Plan?
2. What is the due date for Tuition when you AREN'T on the Monthly Payment Plan?
3. If you are on the Monthly Payment Plan, do you have to pay the exact fraction it says, or can you pay any amount each month, as long as you pay all of it by the end of the plan?
4. If you do have to pay the exact fraction, and you come up short on how much you have, but will have enough money to pay it just a few days later, is there some kind of late fee or something that will let you do this? (this is the case I'm in right now, I'm literally $100 bucks short of paying the $893 I supposedly need to pay tomorrow, but I'll be getting that $100 in the bank just a day or two after...)
