Is anyone in group C for housing and experiencing no luck?

My advisor is telling me that it is rare to be in group C and not get housing.
I already know about off-campus...if I wanted to live off-campus, I would have arranged to do so already.
On top of that res life is clueless until people accept or decline the offers. What's even better is that at my orientation yesterday, my friend was telling me about people from our group who applied the same day we did, and got housing.
Im sorry to complain but, there just needs to be a better method or something.
