I am a transfer student from a school that I would not even bother to mention. I have had some crazy things happen at that other school as far as theft, and just plain outrageousness (Is that even a word). But going on my final year here at UMBC I have seen the better side of schools in general, I mean it is not the best place in the world but I will tell you one thing. I NEVER had to worry about my stuff getting stolen. I had left my purse and books on numerous occasions with complete UMBC strangers and when I come back, everything is there. When I lost my purse and my keys, someone turned it in the next day with everything intact. My friend left her Coach purse on the table in the Commons for 20 mins. before she noticed it missing and noone bothered it. I AM JUST SAYING, all schools can improve but  this is really great.
