What would you do if somebody incessantly hit on your SO?

I was on Reddit when I saw this story. Apparently in 2002, in Encinitas, California, a Secret Service agent, named Kelly Ward, started hitting on the then 21-year-old Zachary Elson's girlfriend.
After she unsuccessfully rebuffed Ward's attempts several times, her BF, Elson, got involved in a scuffle with him, resulting in his own ear being bitten off and swallowed by the agent.
