Favorite comic-book character?

With the Avengers movie coming out and the comic book exhibit going on at the library, it seems as good a time as any to ask- who's your favorite comic book character and why?
For me, it's The Tick. With weirdly nondescript superpowers and a sidekick whose catchphrase is "Not in the face!", I fail to see what's not to love.
