How do you recycle ink cartridges on campus ?
97% of each ink cartridge can be recycled!
In the U.S., more than 13 cartridges are disposed of every second. The total weight of these cartridges is equivalent to 67,612 Ford Explorers or 112,463 Volkswagen Beetles.
There are ink cartridge collection boxes at the Comm Store and the Campus information desk available for everyone. However if you are working in a departmental office, where and how do you recycle ink and toner cartridges? Or do you recycle at all?
Everything that is recycled on campus contributes to the annual recycling rate. The recycling rate for 2011 was 27.9%. The rate should be much higher . If you recycle ink and toner cartridges, that weight needs to be captured for next year's recycling rate report. Please share your method of recycling ink and toner cartridges.
