On the Right or On the Left?
A question for the international or well-traveled individual

I'm sure some of you remember being told by teachers in elementary and preschool to line up "single file on the right side" of the hallway. While it's debatable whether or not people still follow this rule, it's basically the consensus. We drive on the right side, we generally walk on the right side. Even in standard or well-designed malls and airports, escalators and conveyer belts travel forward on the right side of the hall.
But in countries where people drive on the left side, do they also walk on the left side? Do escalators travel forwards on the left side?
If you have lived or visited a country where people drive on the left side, can you provide an answer? It's trivial, but the curiosity is driving me crazy...
