Handicap buttons in dorms, commons, etc
posted almost 13 years ago
Almost every day I encounter someone using the handicap button on the door as a way to circumvent opening the door themselves. I understand if your hands are full, but just hitting the button to avoid opening the door is definitely not the purpose of these buttons! Especially when they cause the door to malfunction (anyone recall the door to the commons near the front desk that was broken last semester?). Is there any way we can raise awareness to save the use of this mechanic for when it's necessary and not convenient?
